I hope this reads okay. I just couldn’t bring myself to draw yet ANOTHER phone conversation. I also had no real idea how I could draw this part of the comic and have it be funny.  The closest I got was a purple Trogdor-esque friendship serpent in an imaginary Sierra game.

I have had a rough week. Which is odd, cause I’m on vacation.

Once again trying to balance humor with story progression. Hope you like it

Very – Very surprised how quickly this was drawn – but I like it. FYI – all grammatical oddness is intentional.

Points if any of you started whistling Frog’s theme from Chrono Trigger when he said his name (I know I did!)

Ok, I should stress that personally, I don’t hate Madonna as much as these two – although I do agree that she could probably stand to class it up a bit.

I wonder who this new guy is….

I was originally going to have this joke take place at the forthcoming ‘After Work Get Together’ but I think I’d lose the pacing of it if it did.  I’m starting to get comfortable drawing Daisy (even if I keep giving her nose jobs ) which is good, because she’s already becoming a great character to play with.

Not sure if I like that middle panel transition thingy, but I really wanted to give the impression that they were talking to each other, even though they weren’t in the same room.

I don’t think Chris knows how to talk to a woman. Or to a man, for that matter.

Whenever I draw comics with phone conversations , two things happen – 1) There’s a crap ton of dialogue the ends up getting really hard to place and 2) Now that everyone is on smartphones that pretty much look the same, there isn’t much by way of poses that I can do. For the record, I wanted Chris to be using a house phone and playing with the cord, but I kinda had to do some kind of cell phone equivalent (also, it’s a sure fire way to ruin the headset )

Once again, tinkering with Daisy’s look – I think it’s really starting to come together. I gotta change the outfit, but changing it in the middle of a phone call would cause all kinds of problems.

The plot – she thickens!

So, I’m still figuring out how to get Daisy to look more feminine without resorting to really big eyelashes and gobs of lipstick. It’s getting there, but I got a bit to go.

I also really want to thank everyone who is reading this. As you may already know, I have some pretty serious bouts of depression, and knowing that what I’m doing is being seen by people, and even some people enjoy it enough to comment on a pretty regular basis makes all the difference in the world to me.

I really appreciate every one of you – you have no idea.

You know what I love? I love when Rachel Maddow alumni get their own shows and do great reporting. I haven’t watched her show as much as I SHOULD because it’s a weekend show, and watching news is part of my pre-work ritual. I’m going to have to make time for this though, because she’s just as amazing as she ever was.  Here’s a really great panel discussion hosted by Melissa Harris-Perry that goes a long way to understanding Transgender life.

Introducing Daisy (can you tell I don’t draw women nearly enough?). Hopefully people get the reference. Not because it’ll mean I’ll have failed as a comedian, but because it’ll mean I’m OLD!

If you’re familiar with the band ‘Dead Or Alive’ the title of this comic might give you an idea of what’s going on.

And yes, I’m just as surprised as you are!
